Sabowind announces the successful commissioning and full operation of its largest wind farm portfolio to date in Poland, comprising 52 Vestas V 100 wind turbines and 2 Vestas V 90 wind turbines with a capacity of 108 MW. Sabowind Polska, a Sabowind Group company, and the buyer of the projects, DIF Infrastructure Fund VI, are pleased with the early granting of the concessions by the energy regulator.
The granting of the concessions is a great success for the entire Sabowind team and all companies involved in the construction. It was only possible to obtain the concessions for the four wind farms ahead of schedule in times of crisis due to the constant commitment and great enthusiasm of all those involved in the realisation of the project.
The wind farm projects developed by Sabowind Polska in Pruszcz, Markowice, Piaski and Wyszki contribute significantly to the success of the energy transition and a future-oriented environmental policy in Poland. They are making a not insignificant contribution to achieving the goal set for 2040 of covering more than half of Poland's energy demand without emissions.
With a total capacity of 108 MW, the four wind farms generate about 300 GWh of electricity annually and can thus save about 100,000 t of CO2 emissions. With the generated electricity, about 75,000 households can be supplied with renewable energy. These sustainable investments in rural Poland will also meet the expectations of four communities and their citizens through tax payments and donations to local institutions.
With the early granting of the concession, the operation of the four wind farms is now secured for the long term. This is an important step for the expansion of renewable energies in Poland and the result of an internationally successful cooperation. Our sincere thanks go to our employees, project and contract partners, the municipalities and authorities and, last but not least, the local community in Pruszcz, Markowice, Piaski and Wyszki.
