Since the start of construction for the four wind farms Pruszcz, Markowice, Piaski and Wyszki in September 2021, 38 of 54 wind turbines have been erected. The project portfolio consists of 52 Vestas V100 wind turbines and 2 Vestas V90 turbines, each with a hub height of 100 m and a total rated output of 108 MW.
The general contractor, Sabowind Polska Sp. z o.o., together with experienced Polish companies, succeeded in preparing the necessary infrastructure at four locations at the same time so that the installation of the turbine technology supplied by Vestas could begin on schedule.
For the grid connection, two transformer stations with 80 and 40 MVA were erected, each of which is connected to the grid interconnection point via a newly laid 110 KV line. A total of 28 km of 110 KV underground cables were laid for this purpose. For the internal cabling of the wind turbines and their connection to the transformer stations, 53.5 km of 30 KV cables were installed.
By the end of the year, all 54 wind turbines will be connected to the public grid and will gradually start their trial operation. The wind farms are located at sites with good wind conditions and, with a planned annual production of approx. 300 GWh of electricity, are expected to save approx. 100,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions and supply approx. 75,000 households with renewable energy.
Sabowind is realising the wind farms for the investor DIF Infrastructure Fund VI, a company of DIF Capital Partners.
