Since the beginning of March this year, work has been under way in Zwickau/Mosel to prepare for the construction of a Nordex 149 wind turbine with a hub height of 164 m and a rated output of 5.7 MW. 20-year contracts for financial participation according to § 6 EEG were concluded with the city of Zwickau, the city of Crimmitschau, the municipality of Dennheritz and Mülsen.
The special challenge for the preparation of the delivery and the erection of this wind turbine is the complex terrain as well as the creation of a plane surface required by the plant manufacturer, which is absolutely necessary for the installation of the large crane. This will enable the turbine manufacturer to start construction of the foundation and delivery of the turbine components (large components) from mid-May.
The wind turbine, which will then be visible from afar, is to be commissioned by the end of October this year and will generate approx. 13,600 MWh of renewable energy annually, which will then be used to supply 4,500 households with green electricity.
In addition, Sabowind makes use of the voluntary payment according to § 6 EEG of the amended EEG 2021: According to the participation model adopted by the government, municipalities located within a radius of 2.5 km around the wind turbine receive an annual amount of 0.2 cents per kilowatt hour actually generated. This additional revenue is at the free disposal of the municipalities and is primarily to be used to promote acceptance among the citizens and thus benefit the people.
